About This Place

Welcome to Brenda's Chippie, a hidden gem situated on the vibrant Central Promenade in Cleethorpes, UK. This quaint eatery stands as a delicious alternative to the larger chains that dominate the resort area. A place that prides itself on freshly cooked fish and chips, Brenda's Chippie promises a culinary experience that embraces tradition while delighting your taste buds.

As you approach, the tantalizing aroma of golden-battered fish fills the air, drawing you closer to the quaint dining experience that awaits inside. Customers rave about the freshness and quality of the meals, with many highlighting the succulent fish that is a hallmark of seaside dining. The reviews paint a vivid picture of what to expect—a delightful feast that transports your palate straight to the heart of British culinary heritage.

The fish is frequently celebrated for its crispy batter and flaky insides, particularly by those who endure the lines that often form outside. The wait is worth it, as echoed by satisfied patrons who describe their dining experience as nothing short of amazing. Accompanying the star of the show, the chips are described as chunky, though opinions vary on their level of doneness. While some enjoy their crispy texture, a few diners have noted inconsistencies in preparation—an observation that Brenda's team may take as a cue to refine their craft further.

Another standout at Brenda's is the curry sauce, a beloved accompaniment that takes the flavor profile to the next level. Customers who appreciate a genuine chippy-style curry—different from Indian variations—express their satisfaction in knowing they can indulge in a richly flavored, nostalgic sauce that perfectly complements their meal.

Beyond the food, the welcoming atmosphere of Brenda's Chippie shines through. Friendly staff ensure that each visit is enhanced by great service, making it more than just a stop for a meal; it’s an experience to savor. The outdoor seating allows diners to enjoy their meals amidst the picturesque surroundings, adding to the charm of this delightful chippy.

Your next visit to Cleethorpes should undoubtedly include a stop at Brenda's Chippie. With its commitment to quality, friendliness, and a menu that captures the essence of British comfort food, Brenda's serves as a reminder of why we love our traditional fish and chips.

Ok chips. Started nice. Chunky cooked chips. Then after eating top few under were some overly cooked chips then lots little scrappy bits. £3 takeaway portion

Amazing fish, very long line and alot of waiting, however it was worth the wait. Curry sauce was amazing and extremely flavourful, chips were a bit over salted, fish was absolutely delicious, very very worth the price and wait.

Chose to eat here as opposed to the larger more obvious chains in the resort . We were not disappointed, freshly cooked fish and chips, Staff were friendly and provided great service . Food was hot and delicious, along with being excellent value for money . Weather was conducive, so we were seated outside. Worth a visit if passing

Came here for fish and chips, chips were soft and well cooked, fish was lovely! - I will be returning, good prices too, with lots of seating outside.

Friendly staff, food was delicious nice chippy and the curry sauce I had was a proper chippy curry sauce not the Indian style curry chippy sauce as don't like that I prefer the proper chippy curry yummy the cod was nice and also the battered sausage went down a treat woudl definitely eat here again. Was some table outside which we sat out and enjoy

Great fish and Peas on a tray huge portion of peas and a lovely large haddock big flakes of fish no bones ..and a tray of red hot chips cooked nice and brown ..

Arrived with 14 others, the menu is a little limited but that only leads to the quality being very high. Only haddock is available on the fish side.the chips very tasty and service was extremely fast and unfazed 7 tables are available for you to sit and eat your purchase. A tasty meal for all to share,we even met Brenda who is still frying after 49 years.
